Member Testimonial

"My 2-year old has a delicate temperament, so I was worried about our first preschool experience, but as he started to get to know all of the parents and become close to each of them, he started to feel safe and really take in the environment and his peers. More over, to watch the transition before my very eyes has been a special experience." -Trish

Admissions Overview

We are excited that you are considering applying for admission to the QACP.  We strive to make the process easy for prospective families.

Enrollment One-Year-Olds (Tots Class)

Children who have turned one by August 31 are eligible to apply for admissions in the Tots Class. Families will be selected in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the Tots Enrollment Priority section below.

Tots Enrollment Priority

Priority for assigning positions and wait list information for the Tots Class is as follows:

  • Current members (with older children enrolled) are assigned first.
  • A child who is new to QACP and has no sibling currently enrolled, but whose last sibling to attend QACP graduated from the Fours class.

Tots Enrollment Instructions

To request a place in a Tots Class, prospective members should send an email to TotsEnrollment@queenannecoop.org with the following information:

 To:     TotsEnrollment@queenannecoop.org
 Subject:   2011-2012 Tots Enrollment
 Email Body:
  • Parent Name
  • Parent Address
  • Parent Phone Number
  • Child or Children's Name
  • Child or Children's Birth Date
  • Child or Children's Gender
  • Session Preference(s)

We will contact you to confirm receipt of your request within five business days. If you have not heard from us by then, please feel free to email TotsEnrollment@queenannecoop.org and we will check on your request.

Tots Lottery Process

Historically, demand for the Tots Class has exceeded the spaces available. If that happens, we use a lottery to assign places in the class and wait list position.

The lottery will take place as close to March 21 (the end of the internal registration period) as possible. At least one volunteer board member will authenticate the drawing.  We will call all parents to notify them of the results within 3 business days of the drawing.

Enrolling Two to Five-Year Olds

Enrollment Priority (All Classes Except Tots)

Wait list positions for all classes except the Tots Class are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis in the following order of preference:

  1. Current members (with older children enrolled) are assigned first.
  2. A child who is new to QACP but has a sibling currently enrolled.
  3. A child who is new to QACP and has no sibling currently enrolled, but whose last sibling to attend QACP graduated from the Fours class.
  4. A child whose family has never been enrolled at QACP.

Multi-Age Classroom (MAC)

QACP offers a Multi-Age Class ("MAC") that provides a place for siblings aged eight weeks to five years to go while their brother or sister is in one of our main classes. Located in nearby room within the church, the MAC provides a convenient option to a limited number of parents.

If you are interested in learning more about the MAC, contact the MAC Coordinator at qacp.maccoordinator@gmail.com

Scholarships

QACP strives to include a financial aid fund in its annual budget. Aid may be requested at any time during the year. Aid levels range from 100% for one quarter only to 50% with no time limit. Detailed information is available in the Parent Handbook (pdf).

Classroom Visits

We welcome prospective members to tour the classroom. We offer the following options:

  • Please call (206) 659-8682 to schedule.
  • After-Hours Classroom Tour: We offer a standing after-hours classroom tour on the first Wednesday of every month (by appointment only).  To schedule, please contact info@queenannecoop.org.
  • Open House Weeks: We schedule two open house weeks each year, typically in late January and late February.  During the by-appointment-only tours, prospective members can visit a QACP class while it is in session. This is the best time to visit if you are considering the school for the following academic year. As soon as the dates are announced they will be posted here and on the home page.
