Classroom Visits

Prospective members have several options to tour the classroom:

  • Call (206) 284-8095 anytime of the year when there is a class opening.
  • Contact info@queenannecoop.org for the standing after-hours classroom tour on the first Wednesday of each month. These classroom tours are by appointment only.
  • Two open house weeks are scheduled each year. These typically take place in late January and again in late February.  During the by-appointment-only tours, prospective members can visit a QACP class while it is in session.  This is the best time to visit if you are considering the school for the following academic year. As soon as the dates are announced they will be posted here and on the home page.

Admissions Policies & Procedures

For a complete description of QACP's admission policies & procedures, please see the parent handbook (pdf).

  • Your child must reach the age of his/her respective class by Aug. 31 to be eligible for enrollment in that class. The 4's class is also open to children who have turned five but who are not yet attending kindergarten.
  • For current members, registration becomes valid upon receipt of the Parent Agreement Form (PAF) and a non-refundable registration fee due by March 19th at 1pm for the 2010-2011 academic year for each child enrolling at the school.
  • With the exception of the Tots class (see below), wait list positions are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis in the following order of preference:
    1. A child who is new to QACP but has a sibling currently enrolled.
    2. A child who is new to QACP and has no sibling currently enrolled, but whose last sibling to attend QACP graduated from the Fours class.
    3. A child whose family is currently enrolled in a Seattle Central Community College preschool other than QACP
    4. A child whose family has never been enrolled at QACP
  • Enrollment for the Tots class is as follows:
Please note the schedule for the Tot's class for the 2010-2011 academic year is as follows:

    Friday AM Tots 9:00 - 10:30
         Monday PM Tots 3:30 - 5:00.
    1. Open enrollment for the 2010-2011 Tots class will begin on March 1st and will end at midnight on March 14th.
    2. Prospective members must send an email to TotsEnrollment@queenannecoop.org within the open enrollment period described above to request a place in one of the following year's Tots classes.  The email must contain:

      » Parent Name
» Parent Contact Info (address, phone numbers)
» Child or Childrens' Info (name, birth date, gender)
» Session preference, and instructions if first choice is not available (i.e. stay on wait list or enroll in second choice)
    3. Parents who do not have access to email must mail their information to the school's P.O. box postmarked by March 14th, 2010 .
    4. Parents should contact the school by phone if they do not receive confirmation that their enrollment information was received within 5 business days.

Priority for assigning positions and wait list information for the Tot's class is as follows:

    1. Current members (with older children enrolled) are assigned first.
    2. A child who is new to QACP and has no sibling currently enrolled, but whose last sibling to attend QACP graduated from the Fours class.
    3. In the event there is more demand than spaces available, a lottery will be held to assign places in the class and wait list position. The Tots lottery will take place as close to three business days after the end of the open enrollment period as possible at the convenience of the Tot's Admissions Coordinator and at least one volunteer board member whose function will be to authenticate the drawing.
    4. Lottery results will be sent out via phone within 3 business days of the drawing. Please check back for the drawing date.
    5. Emails received after March 14th, 2010 will be added to the wait list on a first-come, first-served basis with the order of preference outlined above.

SCCC Risk Management & Safety Procedures

During recent years the Queen Anne Cooperative Preschool has, through it's affiliation with the Seattle Central Community College (SCCC), incorporated risk management procedures into the operation and practices of the preschool. Each year QACP assigns a Risk Management Representative to oversee compliance with SCCC's established safety practices. Our goal is to comply with policy, keep our children safe and not expose the school to risk or unnecessary liability.

The following form, issued by SSSC, must be completed by each member of the school. It also includes a GENERAL SAFETY PROCEDURES AND PRACTICES CHECKLIST which highlights those policies that need to be understood by members prior to working with children.
