Can I bring a sibling to class?
No, but there is a separately run sibling care nursery
one floor up from the classroom. The nursery is organized
by parents and operates separately from the preschool.
Parents using the nursery pay the caregivers individually
and directly. For more information see the Sibling
Care Nursery Guidelines (pdf).

What if I cannot work in the classroom
on a scheduled day due to vacation plans?
For the Tots class, no action is necessary. For others,
you are responsible for finding a substitute and noting
the change on the schedule posted in the classroom. If
you cannot find a substitute you must inform the class
coordinator and the teacher as soon as possible.

What if my child suffers from
allergies?
The QACP is a peanut-free school. The school will work
to accommodate allergies to a reasonable level. Please
note that QACP will not make special arrangements for
food preferences (those that do not cause a serious allergic
reaction.) Parents must state allergies on the Emergency
Medical Form, provide a physician’s letter documenting
diagnosis and proper treatment of the allergy, clearly
post an allergy notice in the snack area and advise the
teacher, class coordinator, health and safety coordinator
and nutrition coordinator. If a child has a severe allergy,
parents must complete a form that describes and authorizes
the pre-school to administer emergency treatment.

How is the coop governed?
The QACP is governed by the board of directors. The boards
consists of a chairperson, vice-chair, treasurer, secretary,
admissions chairperson(s), Parent Advisory Council (PAC)
representative, class coordinators (one from each class
appointed by the chairperson if no one volunteers for
the following school year by the end of the current school
year), teacher (a non-voting member) and parent educator(s)
(non-voting members). The board will use consensus decision-making
while conducting the business of QACP. Parliamentary rules
of order will be followed in the event that consensus
cannot be reached (as long as they are consistent and
applicable to the constitution and bylaws of the school.)
In the event of inconsistency, a committee of board members
will be appointed by the chairperson to make a decision.

How do I share my ideas?
Your class coordinator is your best resource. He or she
can bring your suggestions/concern to the attention of
the board which meets once a month. All members are also
welcome to attend monthly board meetings. If there is
something you would like to discuss during a board contact
the coop chair to have your item added to the agenda.
What is the school's capacity, by class?
All classes can enroll up to 18 children, with the exception
of the Fours class, which is limited to 16 students.
